As soon as possible! Our calendar books up months in advance. You will also want to allow time for retouching and ordering the artwork. We prefer to photograph newborn photos within the first 4 weeks and maternity photos between 26-30 weeks.

Once your session is booked we will send you a style guide, with the option to set up a zoom consultation, to help you select clothing for your session. We also send a prep guide that will touch on the details, that will give you a polished look.

Yes, you can purchase the digital images but we are a full service studio and we really want all of our clients to leave with custom artwork that can be displayed in your home. We find that while most clients have the best intentions to print images themselves, they often end up on a hard drive somewhere. We know you are busy so let us take care of the printing so that you can spend more time doing what you love.

We are a full-service portrait studio and we do not want to send you home with a "to do" list. Therefore, we recommend purchasing your artwork through us, at your ordering appointment. We ensure the quality and color of the portraits, so you can rest assured that you will be able to enjoy your images on display for generations to come. All our folio boxes, albums and wall portraits come with a pair of white gloves and are delivered to your home once the order arrives. We even hang your artwork for you. However, if you still prefer to purchase prints on your own we have a couple consumer labs that we can recommend.

Contact us asap to reschedule. If you or your child are not feeling well, it will show in your portraits! We will work with you to get your portrait session scheduled at the next available date.

Most of our sessions take place in the studio on Tuesday or Thursday mornings. In the studio you will have the convenience of a bathroom, a place to change, refreshments and you don’t have to worry about the heat or those pesky bugs! Plus we have a variety of backdrops that you can select from. Should you prefer to go on location we are happy to make some recommendations for beautiful locations in the area.

With the exception of headshots or limited edition/mini sessions we include professional hair and makeup with all of our sessions. Part of your experience with Misty Jones Photography is to feel pampered! This is not just a portrait session; it is an experience! We want you to feel empowered, beautiful, sexy and confident. If you prefer to do your own hair and/or makeup you can do that too. This is your session and we want you to look and feel your absolute best.

Yes, yes, yes! Sometimes poses happen naturally and other times it requires more direction. We will make sure that you are posed in the best position and lighting for your body type. Part of looking good in your portraits is being comfortable, we will do our best to make sure that everyone being photographed is relaxed, confident and comfortable.

Absolutely! All images are hand retouched to remove blemishes, soften wrinkles, etc… Hair and makeup along with the right clothing and other styling tips will ensure that more extensive retouching is not necessary. However, we do have options for that as well. We also do a master retouch on any wall portraits that are purchased to give the final image that polished look.

When you have your photographs taken by a professional photographer, the images are the property of the photographer. Even if you purchase the digital files, the copyright of each image belongs to the photographer. However, when you purchase the digital images you will receive rights to print the images at the lab of your choice.
